I first visited the clinic in November after finding some bumps inside my vagina which I was worried were genital warts. The nurse I saw was lovely but she felt uncertain as to whether the bumps were warts or whether they were just my anatomy. She froze the area and as the bumps took up the freeze, she felt like they probably were warts and booked me in for a check the following week.
The following week I saw a Doctor who was also unsure whether the bumps were warts or not. She too froze the area and again because it took up the freeze, said she felt like it probably was warts.
Fast forward to March and I felt like there were more bumps in the area so I visited the clinic again and similar to the previous two times the area was frozen and I was told it was most likely warts, although they couldn’t be certain.
I booked in for a wart check the following week and saw a different lady who was also a trained midwife. She gave me a full examination and told me that the area I was worried about was absolutely not warts, and that she was certain the bumps and folds were just my anatomy.
Her expertise really put me at ease and left me feeling clear that I shouldn’t be worried about the bumps in my vagina and that they were just part of my anatomy. As someone who suffers with horrendous health anxiety I felt really reassured upon leaving the clinic that I didn’t have warts.
