"Reception staff need customer care and attitude…"

About: Priory Medical Group

It is incredible that GP reception staff have still got a bad reputation in 2025 and this practice is no exception

The two staff members one more senior in age than the other had abrupt attitudes to simple questions I asked unfortunately I did not get their name as I would have contacted the practice manager direct.

I had a text message from the pharmacy that Priory use some outside body I presume for what I thought was a medication review on a date with a range of a time span. On the day in question I received the call but I was already speaking on the phone so I could not answer the call. Incidentally I have had these calls now for a few years

I then received a text message saying that I had missed my appointment? But as the call has no return number I could not return the call

I visited the surgery only to be told that it was a face to face appointment at their North Shields branch for a blood pressure check which I have never had an appointment at a pharmacy for this before??

The receptionists at Hadrian Park were abrupt in attitude when I told them that I could not go to the North Shields branch and basically advised that they could not force me and the Doctors at Hadrian Park no longer carried out blood pressure checks???

I am pleased to say that the Doctor I am a patient with is friendly and takes his time to listen etc but I fail to see why your GP cannot take a simple blood pressure check anymore. Strangely enough the pharmacy 100 yards away will do it!
