"I couldn’t have asked for better care"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

My newborn needed light therapy for jaundice, I was so anxious about this and really didn’t want to go back into hospital after only just getting home earlier in the day.

As soon as I arrived at Ward 3 the midwife on duty came to speak to me and my partner and I was immediately put at ease, she explained everything to me and gave me the reassurance I needed.

The night shift staff then came on and I had Marina as my midwife, I cannot explain how grateful I am for her care, she really went above and beyond. The care she gave to both me and my newborn son was exceptional, she looked after him and gave me a chance to catch up on sleep which was desperately needed, I felt so at ease and all the initial anxiety I had about being in hospital was gone, I couldn’t have asked for better care. I will always remember how appreciative I felt for Marinas care when I was newly postpartum and at my most vulnerable. Thank you so, so much.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day as a new mum to provide such glowing feedback on the care you received whilst admitted for your baby to have phototherapy.

We understand what an anxious time a readmission to hospital can be, so I am delighted to hear that Marina was able to make this time less stressful for you.

I will make sure that Marina and the other staff involved with your care see your feedback.
