"Caring, compassionate and excellent"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries Arbroath Infirmary / X-rays and Scans

(as a service user),

I suffered a fall recently and had the very unfortunate outcome of fracturing my leg, I was directed by medical services to attend Arbroath’s Minor Injury service. I can confirm that the care I received was very compassionate and empathetic. I was looked after by a wonderful second year student nurse (Stephen) and his care was excellent, his level of compassion and kindness was outstanding. He is extremely good and will be an asset to any ward or department when he qualifies. Alongside his mentor they provided myself with fantastic care and advice and spoke with my husband and also my daughter, to confirm the plans for my follow up.

The level of care was very much appreciated and I can’t thank them enough for helping to fix me up with my moon boot and for the cuppa whilst I was waiting on my x-ray.
I would also like to thank the X-ray team for being so kind and making sure I was ok.

Dear JW56,

Thank you for taking the time to complete a Care Opinion. Your opinion really matters to us and helps us to shape and improve our service.

I am sorry to hear about your recent fall and leg fracture. However it's great to hear that you experienced compassionate and empathetic care from our staff. I will ensure your kind comments are passed onto Stephen and his mentor. Stephen has been a fantastic student nurse and I agree he will be an asset to any ward or department on his chosen career pathway.

We wish you a speedy recovery.

Best wishes

Lauren
