I have been attending my GP practice for over 1 year with ongoing dizziness symptoms and chronic migraines. Each time I attended I was provided the same medication and advised to persevere. I felt I was constantly not being listened to or supported.
My most recent GP visit I was finally referred to ENT services as an urgent case and was told this would be approximately 10-12 week wait and I was advised I am not allowed to drive until my appointment, and the DVLA was contacted to remove my driving license.
I am very disappointed in the support being offered since this. 10 weeks later and I have been advised I have another approximately 8 weeks to wait to be allocated.
I am an NHS worker myself, working in the community, therefore I require to drive to all my visits throughout the day. This has greatly impacted my ability to complete my job and support my family. I have attempted to phone the service several times, emphasising this is significantly impacting my work, however have been advised nothing can be done given the waiting times.
The waiting times within these services are unsatisfactory, an urgent case should not be required to wait nearly 20 weeks for an initial consultation with no support.
The service provided from the GP and neurology has left me feeling completely let down. I have now had 2 appointments cancelled within the hour of appointment, which has left me with no input for several months with no support.
