I must thank the staff at the RCDS unit in Kirkcaldy. They deliver a service which is thorough, caring, professional and extremely fast.

Within days of the initial contact I had a two scans and the results, which was great. The whole process was so fast it was unbelievable.

Although I did not have cancer, the CT scan did not show up other stomach issues which led me to instigate lifestyle changes. This has meant my overall health has improved.

Thanks to the team being so sensitive to my worries that cancer may be present. 

My only other comment would be could there be further support outside the RCDS team when going through these tests, just in case I needed someone to chat to. That's a small point as the overall service is excellent.

My name is Katie Wilkin, and I am the Team Lead ACNS for the RCDS service. Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words about our team. It is great to hear that you found the service fast, efficient, and caring. Ensuring that patients are supported, and cared for during what can be a worrying time is key to the RCDS, especially when there is concern for cancer which prompts the initial referral to the service.

I am glad to hear that your time with the RCDS had a positive outcome and being able to instigate lifestyle changes has allowed you to improve your overall health and wellbeing.

I will make sure to pass on your feedback to the team, who will be delighted to know that their efforts made such a positive difference to your experience.
