Like a lot of people I am not exactly comfortable going to a dentist. Bad experiences in the past have left me wary at best.
I had had an accident that left me with a horrible ache in my mouth. I ended up calling NHS24 and got an emergency appointment at the Glasgow Dental Hospital.
I was very nervous on arrival but the staff were all friendly and I was taken almost straight away to see the dentist (Mark) and nurse (Justine).
Mark was very calm and patient with me as he asked some questions about the issues I was having and after a check of teeth and an x-ray he moved on to treating things. He walked me through what he believed was the issue and what he was going to do to tackle it - all of which left me feeling more comfortable. Knowing what he was doing helped a lot and he was a really good communicator. By the time of getting the treatment done I was feeling a lot calmer than I had been.
The treatment went fine and I should stress to any other dental phobics that it really was painless.
Both Mark and Justine were friendly, polite and professional and really helped de-stress the situation for me.
A huge thank you from me to both of them and the other staff that night.
"Friendly, polite and professional"
