"Confusion was caused"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

The entire experience was totally seamless and exemplary from the paramedics to the nurses and doctors - until the handover when things seemed to get lost in translation.

There was also a lot of loud conversation about many of the staff who seemed unsure about what to do and so they had to be redistributed, which wasn’t very reassuring.

Cue a long wait time for transfer to a ward and lots of confusion.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad to hear that your experience with the paramedics, nurses, and doctors was positive and seamless. However, we truly regret that the handover process and the subsequent confusion led to frustration. Clear communication and smooth transitions are crucial, and we understand how unsettling it can be when things aren't as smooth during these moments.

We'll be sure to pass along your comments to the team to ensure improvements are made in the handover process and in minimizing wait times and confusion during transfers. Your experience matters, and we appreciate your input as it helps us continue to improve. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
