"They do an amazing job and make a big difference"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently my son had dental surgery in the day surgery ward. He was extremely nervous and anxious. He has ASD and ADHD, plus Sensory processing disorder.

I honestly cannot fault the staff from the moment they said hello. We were shown to a room that was mildly lit, Sensory Lights and a moving fish lamp projector. They even have handmade blankets and a teddy bear on the bed that the children can take home. It was quiet and calm. They made sure not too many people came in to the room at once. The whole team were brilliant but Jane and Fran who looked after us were outstanding!! They do an amazing job and make a big difference to families attending.

Thank you for your post and sharing the positive experience that you and your son had while attending Day Surgery. I will pass on your comments to the relevant members of the team. These positive posts can often help others who are feeling anxious about attending for surgery so thank you again and I do hope your son continues to recover well.
