I visited the opticians in November 2024 when it was decided I needed cataract surgery. He sent an email referral to the drs practice and told me I should receive an appointment in about 4 weeks. However towards the end of January I had heard nothing and so I visited the Seaton Sluice surgery and spoke to Shirley who told me that no email had been received and advised me to return to the opticians and ask for a re-referral which I did. Following this Dr Jones sent off an urgent referral to the hospital
First week in February I received a phonecall from Newmedica offering an appointment 4 days later, unfortunately I was unable to attend and assumed a further appointment would be forthcoming, not so.
So returned to the surgery and explained everything to Shirley who listened and said ok we need to get this sorted where upon she got on the phone and got it organised for me to attend Newmedica the next day for pre op examination and I had the surgery the following weekSo after months of toing and froing Shirley sorted it in 20 minutes if it hadn't been for her I would still be waiting
I have to say that she is the most efficient, caring receptionist I have ever come across and deserves at least 2 Gold stars
