About: Community midwifery care / North Belfast Mater Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I had a very nerve wrecking and tough pregnancy throughout 2024 due to a previous loss at the start of the year.

All the midwives in the continuity midwifery care team based in the Mater Hospital (special mention for Ellen and Bronwyn) were so welcoming and reassuring at all my appointments.

Even when I had a scare during a private scan my midwife Ellen was at the other end of the phone reassuring me that everything will be ok. I partially was able to have the birth I wished for, despite having to be induced due to different medical conditions, and I can’t thank Bronwyn enough for her support during a very quick and intense labour.

I now have a perfect little girl who is adored by all those who meet her.

If I ever have another pregnancy I know I’ll be in the best hands with the ladies in the continuity midwifery team.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience of receiving care within the Continuity of Midwifery Care (CoMC) team. It is lovely to hear of the positive experience you received throughout your antenatal care and labour. Please be assured that I will share your kind words with both Ellen and Bronwyn. I am pleased to hear that you were reassured at all times, especially in view of your previous pregnancy loss. Feedback is so important to capture within the service and really helps the staff know how women feel about this model of care.

Should you embark on another pregnancy CoMC team will be delighted to support you through your pregnancy journey.
