Currently going through my second pregnancy. Have been having issues with high blood pressure and PET system on and off for weeks, so much so that I was ambulanced into Aberdeen maternity at one point.
A few days ago, I woke up feeling rubbish, sore head, nausea and my blood pressure was raised. Phoned triage where I was told the standard, take paracetamol and rest. Decided to contact my own community midwife who came past, did 3 readings which were all high and she phoned triage to ask for me to be seen.
From the moment I got into the ward, the particular staff member dealing with me made me feel like an inconvenience, as if I was basically making everything up and they couldn’t be bothered to deal with me. Constantly second guessing everything I said, no interpersonal skills and basically lacked any sort of empathy.
I didn’t want to be there, just as much as they apparently didn’t want me there, but to be made to feel as if you’re an inconvenience at such a delicate time is unacceptable.
"Lack of interpersonal skills"
