"Good care from the pain team"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Pain management

(as a relative),

My husband was admitted to hospital after an accident that caused him severe neuropathic pain and he was unable to walk. It was a very traumatic time for our family and there were a few issues with the care he received in the ward and with his medical and surgical team.

He received treatment from the Pain team, his pain was difficult to manage and it took a while to get on top of it however the care he received from them was excellent. They listened to him, advised him and referred him to other areas that could support him. They tried as many options as required and finally he got there. They finally done what other professionals hadn't and it was mainly that they listened and acted on what he needed. We were so grateful and it was a massive relief that people were actually hearing us.

I'm sorry to hear of your husband's recent accident and know this must have been a difficult time for you all. Thank you for taking the time to share your story and experience. I am glad you felt listened to and supported by the pain team and it is great to hear of the difference the service was able to make to your experience. I will pass your feedback on to the team and wish your husband well in his on going recovery.
