About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Attended at Cardiology Department at University Hospital Hairmyres 15 minutes early for my appointment. I was shouted through within 5 minutes which was absolutely great.

The nurse was called Lorraine who explained what would be happening. She was very pleasant and and answered my initial questions. I was slightly apprehensive and she put my mind at ease.

I was then seen by a specialist nurse who carried out the procedure. She kept me updated on what was going on during the half hour procedure and answered all my questions (of which there were many). She was able to reassure me on many aspects and was very reassuring throughout. We made easy conversation which helped greatly. At the end her boss came in and reviewed the process and he too was helpful in that he answered my questions.

All in all I found Lorraine, Karen( nurse who carried out scan) and Paul to be friendly, communicative and above all professional.

It can be a worrying time attending hospital for a procedure and I am so pleased to hear that Lorraine and our specialist nurse were knowledgeable, answered all your questions and put you at ease. This must have been very reassuring for you.
