"Fantastic care provided"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Elderly Medicine (Wards 51, 52, 54,55, 57, 8a & 2a) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Initial Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

My mother had to get taken in urgently due to an infection with her bowels. She’s elderly and vulnerable. The care provided for her in ward 2A when getting ready to leave hospital, the immediate assessment unit when she was taken first and then when she was transferred to the acute receiving unit all has been fantastic.

The doctors, nurses and all other staff at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow was amazing. So kind and explained everything clearly to me what was going on. I can’t tank everyone enough for everything they’ve done. They also arranged a care package to help with the care for mum at home, to help take the pressure off me, as I’m an unpaid carer and work full-time from home.

Dear robertrx25,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent experience in Ward 2A.

The Senior Charge Nurse will share with the multidisciplinary team.

I wish your mother all the best at home with her package of care in place for support.

Kind Regards

Rebecca Fulton, Interim Clinical Service Manager
