"Wonderful care"

About: South West Acute Hospital / Emergency Care and Medicine Services

(as a service user),

My husband has dementia and had to go into hospital with a very bad infection. At one point we thought he was going to die but because of all the wonderful care he received he made it through. My daughter and myself thank those in SWAT, Enniskillen very much and not them only but God for giving them the knowledge they needed at that time 🙏

Dear stonekt73

My name is Nicola Hayes and I am the Dementia Service Improvement Lead for Acute Hospitals.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback on your husband’s care during his hospital stay in SWAH. A stay in hospital can be very difficult for patients and families. It can be even more distressing for patients living with dementia as they are in an unfamiliar environment as well as having to cope with being physically unwell, as in your husband’s case.

I am delighted to hear that your husband received ‘wonderful care’ and I hope your husband is currently keeping well since his discharge from hospital.

May I thank you again for taking the time to share your experiences with us on care opinion.

Your feedback is very welcome to ensure safe, effective, compassionate and well led care is delivered.

Kind Regards

Nicola
