"Lack of information regarding appointment waiting times"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

I phoned Hairmyres Hospital to find out how much longer I might have to wait for a follow-up appointment with Dr Data. The secretary told me that my name is on the list, however she was not allowed to divulge that information. I have already been waiting 12 months, and I would like to know if I am likely to be seen this year. Why can no one give out this information?

I am sorry to hear that you have been waiting 12 months for your appointment and that you have been unable to find out how much longer the wait list is. I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you.
