Over the past 3 years, my mother has received intermittent care from Lyndsey’s District Nurse team. However, following a recent short visit to ED my mother was diagnosed with abdominal malignancy. We brought mum home so she could be with her family for a few days. Following that as a family we were fully supported by Lyndsey’s District Nurse Team.
Mum received a high standard of care each day by Lyndsey or Danielle. Both ensured mum's pain was well controlled and that she was comfortable. They were both professional and treated mum with dignity and respect.
They explained End of life care and mum’s diagnosis to my dad and the rest of the family and gave us opportunities to ask questions.
Lyndsey and Danielle enabled mum to die at home surrounded by her family. The day before mum died, Carol provided a high standard of care to mum and gave our family all the support we needed, enabling mum to be comfortable and to die with dignity and respect.
As a family we were thankful and felt fully supported by Lyndsey, Danielle and Carol as we spent our last few days with mum.
