"She was fabulous with my son"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Play Services

(as a service user),

My son had brain surgery and was terrified as previously he had a bad experience with bloods, cannula.

And the play nurse Tash was amazing, from my son's admission to the Borthwick ward and she supported us to in theatre from start to finish with our whole journey. Tash was fabulous with my son and with ourself. We could not off done the hospital admission without her. My son was very happy and very thankful.

Thanks so much for all the support you provided and made my son feel very at ease.

Dear Shugs,

I am sorry to hear that your son was a patient in Borthwick ward. I hope he is recovering well from his surgery.

Coming into hospital can be a very scary time for children, especially if they have previously had a bad experience. Our play team are a crucial part of helping overcome this so I am glad to hear that Tash was amazing.

I have personally thanked Tash and I have shared your comments. Thank you for taking your time to tell us about your experience.

Dear Shugs,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on this platform. We realise people are very busy so we do appreciate that you have taken time out of your busy day to share your son's story.

I am sorry that your son has had to spend time in hospital but I am glad that Tasha helped to make a difference to this stay. I manage the play team in the hospital and will make sure that Tasha sees your lovely comments and I am sure she too will be very grateful that you took the time to share this feedback.

Best wishes

Margaret McEwan
