"Fantastic care received"

I went to see Sonya as I have a neurological condition that causes headaches. The care from this lady was outstanding and far beyond anything I ever expected. She went above and beyond to help me with lots of aspects of my care including sorting things that weren't hers to sort when others failed to do their part.

If it wasn't for her my frustration and sickness would have completely overwhelmed me. She was down to earth, non-judgmental and friendly. She was an absolute godsend at a difficult time for me. Things could sometimes be overwhelming with different aspects of my care but Sonya was calm and resourceful and always helped me find solutions. This woman is an absolute credit to the hospital and indeed to the NHS as a whole and I wish there were more like her. She took the time to get to know me so that she could tailor my care to me and had a holistic approach which I found both comforting and refreshing as so many never look at the patient as a whole and only see a bunch of symptoms to treat.

This led to a successful outcome and an extremely positive experience. When patients feel vulnerable I believe it is important for the clinician to build trust with them and Sonya did this effortlessly and was an absolute pleasure to work with. I felt listened to which is so important as I think that sometimes the patient can be dismissed because they don't have the same level of knowledge as the clinician but with Sonya this was never an issue, she treated me with care and respect and I was included in all decisions.

There really are no words to express just how much of a difference Sonya made in my life at a tough time. I will be forever grateful to her for being the lovely person she is
