"Care we recieved in A&E"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

I hope this message will reach the nurse who dealt with my son. In early March around the early hours of a Friday morning, the staff team in the Queen Elizabeth children's hospital seen my son.

One particular staff member who was called Sharon, went above and beyond in her role when my son was extremely distressed. Sharon took my son to find the gruffalo around the hospital while completing his obs. This might seem little to some. But she was able to not only calm and reassure my 2 year old but myself and my partner included.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Sharon in particular and the rest of the staff on shift that evening.

Dear LJW28

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words and your experience of attending the Royal Hospital for Children. We're so pleased to hear that Sharon, along with the rest of the staff, was able to provide such compassionate and thoughtful care to your son during a difficult time.

We understand how distressing it can be for both children and parents in hospital settings, and it's heart warming to know that Sharon’s kindness, creativity, and extra effort made such a positive impact. We'll make sure that Sharon and the rest of the team are aware of your feedback. Your appreciation means a lot to all of us.

Thank you again for your kind words, and we wish your son all the best in his continued recovery.

Kind regards

Kevin
