"Personable, kind and supportive"

About: Neurodiversity Services / North Lincolnshire ADHD team

(as the patient),

It was a long time coming, and I had worried it would be a gruelling arduous experience, nothing could be further from the truth. I worried I was imagining it all.

Amanda was personable kind and above all supportive. After a life of thinking I was stupid, a childhood of that being pushed upon me by my mother, Amanda confirmed what a previous boss had suggested some years ago, that I have ADHD.

I’m looking forward to medication to help clear the fog and stop or at least ease the rumination that goes on constantly. Ease the washing machine that’s been on full load for as long as I can remember…

HI I am Jo the Manager for the Team, firstly thankyou for taking the time to complete the Care Opinion form. Your positive feedback was a real pleasure to read, I will be sure to pass on your lovely comments to Amanda. As a team/service we recognise the difference a diagnosis can make to a patients outlook on life. Especially when it provides the answers that are often missing when it comes to questions we cannot find the answer to. Regarding your analogy of the washing machine effect it can often feel that way when we cannot make sense of things that are happening to us on a daily basis so quite often come to an incorrect answer or solution to our ongoing problems/symptoms. That is why as a service we are constantly striving to support our patients throughout the patient journey with the team as smooth as possible with a positive outcome. May I take the time to wish you well on your journey through life.
