Had my baby in Daisy Hill, she arrived at 34 weeks and spent 2 weeks in the Special Care Baby Unit. Going home without your baby is a difficult experience- however I was never worried about leaving her in the expert care of all the staff in the SCBU.
What a wonderful team they are, having the ability to turn a difficult time into a caring and loving experience full of support and reassurance at every step.
Thanks especially to Mary, the first face we saw on the night our girl was born and who gave us absolute peace of mind!
Thanks also to the wonderful Emma, Claire, Amy Lee, Lissie, Michelle, Anne Marie, Finola, Audrey, Tracey, Chloe and the lovely placement nurse Ciara who was a fantastic help during our first few days. Many more names I’m sorry I don’t have them all today, not to mention the wonderful baby doctors too. Couldn’t have done it without you all
