"Service received in ED Altnagelvin"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Emergency department

(as a parent/guardian),

My son required emergency treatment in the ED on Saturday night. The care we received was excellent from the receptionist, triage nurse, nurse assistant and the doctor and nurse who then provided the treatment. They were run off their feet and there was a number of very challenging situations ongoing while we were there. Despite this, the environment and staff remained calm and compassionate. This made a very frightening experience so much more manageable. I want to take this opportunity to pass on my appreciation and I am assured that you will pass this feedback to the staff. Thank you.

Dear Agratefulmum,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your story about your sons care within our dept. We hope he is recovery well.

I am sorry for the late reply to your story, we are very busy prioritising clinical care within our dept. I have shared your wonderfully positive story with all the nursing, administrative and medical staff. hearing positive feedback is greatly appreciated by everyone in the team.

It can be a frightening time for all the family when a loved one needs emergency care and creating a calming environment is crucial for staff to deliver emergency care and also for the patient and their family so I am very pleased that you noticed this.

Kind regards

Amy
