"Thank you, your help and kindness means a lot"

About: Victoria Hospital / Haematology/Oncology Day Unit

(as the patient),

Unfortunately I have been quite ill during part of my cancer treatment (Chemo Tabs) but didn't know what to do for the best. I decided to phone the helpline which was great as they phoned me back and advised they will phone my oncology team. I received a phone call from Paul. 

Paul was very helpful, caring , kind and understanding on both occasions that he phoned me. It was reassuring to know that some-one cared enough to check information, phone me back and give me good advice on what I should do.  Thank You Paul your help and kindness means a lot.

I am Murdina MacDonald the Lead Cancer Nurse. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of care with us when you’ve been unwell during your treatment. I'm so pleased that the helpline and Paul were able to provide you with the support and reassurance you needed.

Going through cancer treatment can be challenging and reaching out for help is such an important step. It’s heart warming to read how much Paul’s kindness and support meant to you. Feeling cared for and reassured during such a challenging time is so important, and I’m glad you felt listened to and guided in the right way. I will make sure your kind words are passed on to Paul. He will be so touched to know the difference he made. Please remember that you’re never alone in this journey, and there will always be people ready to support and help you whenever you need it.
