"My broken thyroid.."

About: Northern Health & Social Care Trust

(as the patient),

Doctor Kennedy is amazing.

I has half my thyroid removed, suspected Cancer, results at the end were the best No cancer...  So when  I tried to start a family I looked up what I need to take, went to my own GP told him, that I would like to start a family,  he put me on 5mg of thyroxine.... I waited and waited and waited 1 full year with No such luck, then wow I got pregnant,  tho it ended at 6weeks.... Went to see my GP again and I saw a stand in doctor, told her about my pregnancy,  she couldn't believe I even got pregnant, as my thyroids were not working as they should... So she then preferred  me the Doctor Kennedy, on the day that I went to see her I also had a appointment  to see fertility  doctor to which he told us that we were both OK, only thing he could see was my thyroids were not working properly..

So of I go to see doctor Kennedy, she saw all my doctor reports everything she needed know. Said to me don't worry we will have you pregnant soon enough... After a month of being in Dr K care we were pregnant.. and a year half later I got a phone call are you ready to go again, as this is what we discussed.. And 1 month later we were pregnant  again.... We now have 2 hyper boys in which we love with all out hearts... Thanks to the amazing Doctor Kennedy.... Thank you ....

Hello Sharon018

My name is Natalie McLaughlin, Clinical Services Manager for Diabetes-Endocrine and Renal services within the Northern Health and Social Care Trust.

I am very pleased to read that you received the news of having no cancer, I am sure that was such a worrying time for you.

When reading your words about Dr Kennedy stating she would 'have you pregnant soon enough' I can just hear the positivity and reassurance in her voice. Dr Kennedy is devoted to her area of specialism and indeed to her patients, to ensure she provides the highest standard of care.

It is wonderful to learn you now have 2 'hyper' boys to love and cherish and create precious memories as they grow.

Thank you so much for taking the time (especially with 2 young boys) to post your experience of being under the care of Dr Kennedy, I will be delighted to share this with her, and I can say on her behalf she will be extremely grateful.

Sending best wishes to you all.

Natalie
