It’s quite daunting to have your child admitted to RHC. However we cannot thank Dr McGlone, Dr Higgins and Dr Hillis enough. We received such thorough care and diligence on every step of our journey (ED through CDU to 2C). We would also like to thank Abby in CDU who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
The only less positive feedback we have is about the 4 bedded bay in 2C. During our stay there was a lamp plugged in between 2 of the beds. This looks like a domestic lamp and I’m not sure it was pat tested. We were told it could not be turned off overnight as it was the only way the nursing staff could see in the bay. This was quite disruptive to sleep as my daughter is used to pitch dark. As far as I’m aware no other ward uses such a thing and so i think this practice needs to be reviewed for future parents' sakes.
