I've been receiving biologic infusions for a chronic auto-immune condition at the Clinical Intervention Unit at Queen Margaret Hospital over the past few months.
The care and support from the whole team has been absolutely excellent. On stepping in to the clinical area, there's a real sense of calm and quiet efficiency, and it's clear staff are dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming service to those coming in for treatment. It's always a nervous time when you're undergoing any sort of treatment, especially for the first time, but the nurses take care to explain all the steps and allow for any questions.
Once connected up to a drip, you're monitored regularly and provided with a drinks and a snack if so desired. I actually found the whole thing quite relaxing, which is testament to the overall atmosphere of the unit. Staff seem to have a great relationship with their 'regulars', which was great to see.
Thanks to all the staff within the unit for making my appointments with them so easy.
