"She made me feel very relaxed"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit

(as the patient),

I was struggling a bit with breastfeeding a few days after birth and had such great support from one of the Maternity Care Assistants in Forth Valley called Maureen.

She came to my house for a routine home visit and within the short space of time of this visit she had me successfully feeding my baby from both sides which I wasn’t able to do before she arrived. She listened to what my issues were, observed what I was doing and then gave great advice and support. She gave advice with regards to my positioning, hold and also helped me to use a nipple shield and within minutes I was feeding from both sides.

I can’t thank Maureen enough for the help she gave me. She made me feel very relaxed and didn’t feel like she was being judgmental.

So grateful to have found someone like her just when I needed her.

Dear Tracy 87,

Thank you so much for your positive feedback regarding the great support you received from one of our Maternity Care Assistants, Maureen.

I am so glad that you felt listened to, and that you received great advice, to help you to continue to breastfeed your baby.

I will personally send this to Maureen, and on her behalf thank you again for your post, this will mean so much to her.

Best Regards

Heather Riddoch
