FIrstly Calling at 8am is a ridiculous policy especially for patients who are sick all night and can't wake up or for those with chronic fatigue or anxiety who can't function in the mornings.
Secondly when I did call at 8am the receptionist was extremely rude and persistently offered me a nurse practitioner appointment when said i need to see a dr. She said a nurse practioner can do everything a dr can do so did I want this appointment or not ? I accepted as she said appointments were going
whilst I was asking about seeing a doctor and how appointments are allocated so I know for next time she rudely ignored me and whilst I was speaking said " I've sent you a text bye" and hung up.
Whilst I appreciate it's busy at this time it's totally unacceptable to hang up on a patient when they are talking. If they are busy why not suggest speaking to the patient whennthey come in. Remember people call in crisis with ill health and are desperate to see a doctor. A little compassion and consideration no matter how busy they are would be welcome. Don't treat us like we are a nuisance and answer the questions asked.
