"Vascular surgery having never had surgery before"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Blood vessel problems ( Vascular Ward 11a &11d) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Same Day Admissions Unit

(as a service user),

My elderly mum (80yrs of age) was admitted for vascular surgery having never had surgery before and was understandably very nervous. She was expertly looked after by the whole team Mr Yapanis , lovely female registrar Jennifer (I believe that was her name)  the wonderful post op nurse Grace who was very kind and reassured mum, the staff of 11A. Staff nurses El, Kenneth and Simone. We both appreciated , when the theatres, clinics and wards are under so much pressure, the time and kindness shown to my mum.

Dear lolly321,

How wonderful to hear your lovely feedback regarding your mum and her surgery.

I fully appreciate what an anxious time this can be particularly when never having had surgery before.

I am pleased to hear that she felt so well looked after during her time in the ward as well as the clinics and theatre.

The teams will very much appreciate the feedback and I will be sure to share this with them now.

Wishing your mum well for her onward recovery.

Best wishes,

Debbie Macintyre,

Clinical Service Manager
