"Sheer light on my darkest day"

About: NHS 24 / Breathing Space (Phoneline)

(as the patient),

I recently used the webchat service. I have been struggling with the grief of my mother and I felt like I was drowning.

Advisor Lina was calm, patient and knew just what to say. She wasn’t pushy with GP and medication, suggestions instead she gently suggested that it was ok to be in pain but somehow still function everyday. She somehow gave me permission to unlock my hurt and my intense grief.

She suggest some counselling and I’m pleased to say I have an appointment coming up. I’ve felt under pressure to clear my mum's belongings but now know that there is no rush.

She also suggested some beautiful grief poetry and these words speak to me and it’s like someone has gone into my mind and written it all down, the author is wonderful, as was Lina. She was sheer light on my darkest day and I want to say thank you.
