"Terminally ill mother"

About: Raigmore Hospital / Gastroenterology Raigmore Hospital / General Surgery

(as a relative),

Our mother Elsie was admitted to Raigmore in December following a long battle at home with cancer, she was initially treated in ward 4C and then to ward 7C where she died last night, as a family we were most impressed with the dedication shown by every member of staff within both wards, lovely to see at a time when both wards are extremely busy. As a family we were always made very welcome and respected. It wasn't always a sad journey  there was many a laugh to be had which mum enjoyed especially with Marion the ANP

Dear Aileen G

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing your story to Care Opinion.

Please accept our sincere apology for the delay in responding to, and acknowledging you post.

Firstly, please let me offer you our sincere condolences on the loss of your mother. I am sorry to hear of her passing.

Positive feedback is something which staff look forward to, and are always delighted when it is received. We are very touched that you have contacted us so soon after you sad loss.

We are pleased to hear that your mother received good care from all the staff in both Wards 4C, and 7C, especially Marion, and that staff were able to provide her with respect and dedication and that you found the staff to be caring and compassionate - and a wee laugh from time to time.

I can confirm that your post has been shared with Marion, both Wards, Medical Staff and Senior Managers.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience.

With kindest regards

Sylvia

on behalf of Raigmore Hospital (Gastroenterology & General Surgical)
