"My wonderful care"

About: Lagan Valley Hospital / Urgent Care Centre Lagan Valley Hospital / Ward 1A Rapid Assessment Centre / Respiratory Hub

(as a service user),

I was admitted to Ward 1A from Lagan Valley A&E.  I was having problems breathing, coughing and very wheezy.  I initially contacted the Respiratory hub where I have always been very well looked after. Was advised to make appointment with A&E which I duly did. My appointment was 2.30 and im happy to report I was seen at 2.40.   As my Sats were low after I was triaged I was moved immediately onto a trolley. Put on Oxygen which helped. At every step of the way I was fully informed about every blood test , xray and my regular observations. My treatment was absolutely amazing.

I was moved up to Ward 1A.  Immediately I was assessed and again I was informed at each step of my treatment.  I very much regret not getting the names of everyone involved in looking after me and I stress everyone. I cannot put into words how well I was treated.  Everyone on Ward 1A went above and beyond what i expected.  The day staff of all the nurses, the doctors, the wonderful ladies who cleaned, the ladies who gave us our food. I want you to know Everyone is included in my thanks.  To the night staff as well and in particular one male nurse whose name I didn't get , was so attentive.

I was so impressed by the kindness, the care and the patience of the staff to my fellow patients.  It was as if they were looking after a family member such was their care.

At the point i must also mention the quality of the food. Too many times we hear about inadequate hospital food.  Not the case in LVH.  Food was hot, wholesome and plentiful. I have actually gained a few pounds.

I also want to place on record my thanks to Dr Crawford, Dr Tate and Orla ( respiratory nurse) and also the young man who was my Physio.  I cannot thank you enough .

I would appreciate it if all staff on ward 1A are made aware of my gratitude.

Thank you

Hi Jif56

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience following a recent admission to Lagan Valley through the Urgent Care Centre. It is good to hear you were seen and assessed quickly and treatment given as well as being kept informed throughout.

I will share your comments with the staff who will appreciate them.

I hope you are well on the way to a full recovery.

Best Wishes
