"Care for my Dad"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a relative),

My Dad recently attended Craigavon ED, brought in by Phil and Hazel from NIAS Omagh Station. They were compassionate and thorough in their assessment and transferred him to ED with pre-alert call.

In ED he was cared for by kind nursing and medical staff. Special mentions for Dr Yusuf who is an absolute gentleman. It is a pleasure and relief to find someone who actually listens and hears what the problems and difficulties are, and has time for patients and families.

He arranged a variety of appropriate tests and commenced treatment that brought about rapid improvement. He explained things to my Dad who doesn’t understand medical terms.

Another note of thanks especially to Oisin the HCA who assisted Dad with toileting and took his obs and made sure he was comfortable. In a busy environment, it is lovely that he took the time to check everything was ok and offer reassurance.

The cleaning team were in several times during the course of him being there too and friendly support staff offered a meal to my Dad.
