"I experienced exemplary care throughout my stay"

About: Cannock Chase Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I was admitted to Cannock Chase Hospital for a knee replacement on late February. The operation went ahead that afternoon. The next day I was light headed with low BP and the diligent staff kept me in bed until blood test results came back. By the Sunday I had low blood count so they arranged a blood transfusion. The next day I started to recover. By the Tuesday they had me walking on a frame and on Wednesday on crutches. I came home on the Thursday.

I experienced exemplary care throughout my stay, from all who worked on Hilton Main ward. They were caring, attentive, responsive and thoroughly professional. The ward was light, bright, airy and clean. The food was excellent.

I am very pleased with my experience there and grateful to all who contributed to my operation and after care.
