"Excellent Patient Care"

About: Trauma & orthopaedics / Orthopaedic National Treatment Centre

(as a service user),

I recently had surgery, and 2 weeks later had the stitches removed.  Following wound care and the scabbing coming off I noticed that there was still a stitch left in my wound.

I contacted the National Treatment Centre - Fife Orthopaedics on a Friday and spoke to Audrey, once I explained the situation Audrey kindly arranged for me to come along to the Centre on the following Monday (transport issues prevented me attending on the Friday).

On Monday I went along at the arranged time and met Kayleigh (HCW) and Miranda (Nurse).  I was in and out of the room in minutes with the stitch removed.

All 3 staff members were excellent in listening to the problem and providing solutions.  They showed excellent patient care and are a credit to the Health Board,  Thank you all very much.

Good afternoon

My name is Yvonne, I am the Senior Charge Nurse within the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department.

Thank you so very much for providing such wonderful feedback. We work exceptionally hard making sure each and every patient is treated as an individual, is listened to and heard and is given care tailored exactly to their needs.

Feedback is so valuable to how we deliver care, it gives us a platform to recognise what we are doing well and the opportunity to improve our service and practice. To hear your positive feedback really motivates us to keep working hard.

I will share your wonderful feedback with Audrey, Miranda, Kayleigh and all of the NTC Team.

I wish you well during your recovery and orthopaedic journey. I look forward to welcoming you back to the National Treatment Centre for any future follow up's.

Best Wishes

Yvonne
