"Exemplary treatment"

After several years with no symptoms I experienced a worrying recurrence of a heart condition- AF - with a very high heart rate.

My wife drove me to the A&E unit at RDUH Exeter where I received absolutely first class treatment. From triage to ECG and blood testing and subsequent assessment by the medical team everyone was caring, courteous, friendly and very professional - despite the late hour.

I was amazed to be referred for follow up at SDEC the following day - a Sunday! - where I once again received exemplary treatment.

Repeat ECG, chest X-ray and further blood tests were completed within an hour and following consultation with the Nurse Practitioner and Registrar I was on my way with new medication and a letter to my GP so shortly afterwards. Fantastic service from the NHS! Thank you.
