"Rubbish beds and rubbish food"

About: St Johns Hospice / St John's Hospice (inpatient)

(as a service user),

Given a cold room with a flat blow up bed, hurt my back, was moved after 3 days when I said I wanted to go home. New bed not much better.

Slept in chair and bed, ended up with bad back pain.

Pushed to go home early as in so much pain.

Food inedible, cold when you got it, not much imagination gone into presentation.

Food cold rubbery and not nice.

Hi

Thank you for sending this through to us, we really appreciate any kind of feedback as this allows us to be able to make changes to improve things for future. I know that some of our mattresses do not suit everyone, and we always try to swap to alternative mattresses where possible. I have spoken with one of the ward sisters and she has advised me that the mattress would have been changed twice to try to find one which was comfortable for you. We are considering getting some more mattresses in the near future and will use your' feedback to help guide us to something suitable.

I am sorry that your' experience of the food quality was poor, I have shared this with the catering team today too. I will share your larger feedback with the hospice team at our next team meeting and buildings meeting too.

Thank you again for taking the time to pass on your' comments. If you would like to discuss your feedback with me personally my telephone number is 03000 214669.

Barry
