"Made me feel good and listened to me when I was scared"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

I have Crohn's Disease and Autism and I go to therapy kitchen at the children hospital in Glasgow.

My psychologist Collette  helps me with my eating. For 10 years I have eaten the same 5 foods and trying new foods makes me very anxious, but Collette has helped me for over a year and I am so happy and proud of myself for trying lots of new foods and not being scared although it did take me a while but Collette always made me feel good and listened to me when I was scared. I had my last appointment this week and I will miss her so much because she was like a best friend who helped me and she was so nice.

I hope I see her when I have to go to my appointments for my Crohn's disease.

Dear Kimr342

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful feedback with us. We are so happy to hear about the positive impact Collette has had on your journey, and it’s inspiring to know that you’ve made such incredible progress with trying new foods. We understand how challenging it can be, especially when you have both Crohn's Disease and Autism, but your dedication and bravery are truly commendable.

We’re glad to hear that Collette has been there to support you every step of the way, listening to your concerns and making you feel comfortable. It’s clear that the bond you’ve developed with her has been incredibly positive and meaningful, and we will be sure to pass on your kind words to her. We’re sure she’ll be touched to know how much her support has meant to you.

While we understand that you will miss her, we hope that when you visit for your Crohn’s appointments, you’ll feel the same warmth and care from the team, and perhaps have the chance to see Collette again.

Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we wish you continued success and good health on your journey.

Kind regards

Kevin
