"Amazing care received"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Medical Assessment Unit

(as a relative),

Would just like to say a big thank you to the staff in A&E and especially Ward 2 for the kindness and care they gave my husband at Hairmyres Hospital, they have hearts of gold and feel that their not always appreciated, my husband was in for 5 days after going to the opticians with double vision and headache and was sent straight to the hospital.

He was given scans and an mri were it turned out to be six palsy, he made some friends who were in the same ward and made his stay enjoyable he also said the food was great and and couldn’t complain.

So thank you to all our nurses and doctors in the NHS you do an amazing job and work long hours thanks Xx

Dear jimmb56,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Hairmyres.

I am so pleased to hear that your husband had such excellent care while staying after being sent from the opticians. I am glad he was well looked after, enjoyed his food and managed to make friends. Feeling supported and not feeling alone in hospital makes such a difference to the experience and I am glad he was able to have this.

I look forward to passing your kind words onto the teams who looked after your husband and I am sure they will get a real boost in hearing your feedback.

I hope he is keeping well.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
