(as the patient),

I feel like I am being made to suffer mentally, half hour a day for cigarettes which i feel is disgusting, vapes in here don't work, I just want to go home.

Thank you for your feedback which we appreciate.

In terms of Section 17 leave on the ward – this is granted on an individualised basis, and will be in line with a person’s current presentation and requirement for leave in the community. Though due to the restrictive nature of a PICU, we ordinarily will only offer 30 minutes per day.

With reference to vapes – this is currently part of a wider piece of work being undertaken within the Trust, and we are looking for alternatives which we hope will be available later in the year.
