My son had a stay in ward 209 recently following orthopaedic surgery . He has complex medical, behavioural and mental health issues making delivery of care very challenging in an acute surgical setting .
The staff were amazing even when under extreme pressure due to staffing issues.
He was treated with respect, dignity ,and compassion. Except for a very small minority, he was supported and cared for without judgement. The staff were also very supportive of the family for whom it was a very traumatic and worrying time.
I would be most grateful if you could pass on our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all involved in his care in 209. It was a very difficult and trying time for everyone but it was managed with compassion and professionalism. Thank you.
Our sincere thanks also to Mr Patton ,Nadine (Psych), Charlotte (stress/destress) nurse and Michelle ( navigator).
