"Made my father's life better and I will be forever grateful"

About: General practices in Fife

(as a service user),

Oakley surgery in Fife is wonderful.

We moved to Fife following the death of my mother, and my father's frame of mind was good but he was in his 80s and entering a new medical area, there was a degree of leaping into the unknown and he was mourning the death of my mother after 62 years of marriage.

Where we lived previously, my father's treatment was, I believe, wrong for his leg ulcers. But in Fife, Hannah is the most wonderful nurse and she sits high on my list of great people. We turned up and Hannah said what’s the problem, we said leg ulcers, she said she had no information, we said both legs, she said let’s start afresh. She was instrumental in healing the ulcers in his leg, along with Jane and Jen. These ladies will for me always sit high in my appreciation, collectively they sit on a pedestal.

Can I also thank Doctors Whittome and Caldicott for their support at the times they were called on.

My father passed away earlier this year after kidney failure and bone marrow collapse. Hannah, Jane and Jen made his life a lot better than the medical services experienced previously ever did and I thank them from the bottom of my heart and I will be forever grateful. Their cheery demeanour and friendliness is a credit to their profession and I cannot say enough.

As my father also had heart failure, we engaged with Julie who visited him at our house, Julie's patience and nursing care also went a long way to making him comfortable in his last months, thank you Julie.

Update posted by Mark11 (a service user)

Thanks Gill & Shelley, praise where it is due, I am so thankful to Oakley for their hard work and care for my father, it was my biggest fear when we moved him that the medical provision would prove challenging and these ladies and the doctors quickly put my mind at rest, a hug of appreciation for each and every one of them
