"She quickly put me at ease, explaining what would happen"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I attended hospital outpatient’s for an echocardiogram.  I arrived early expecting to wait for a good while.  However within 10 minutes my name was called by Joanne. She told me she was going for lunch but as I was waiting she was happy to see me first. She quickly put me at ease, explaining what would happen, what an echocardiogram is looking for and how heart murmurs occur.

At the end of the procedure Joanne, who had noted I had a pacemaker check up in a few days, said that if I wished I could have it done there and then.  This was extremely kind of both her and the person who did this check and saved me another trip to the hospital.

Dear oscarek99.

Many thanks for taking the time to give feedback on your recent visit to the Cardiology Dept.

I am delighted to hear that you felt the care you received from Joanne and Lynne was excellent and through this care you were made to feel at ease and kept well informed.

Joanne and Lynne will be chuffed to bits to hear of your kind words because as a dept we pride ourselves on the high standard of care and compassion that we set ourselves and strive to maintain each day.

Thanks again.

Paul
