I recently had to undergo surgery for a knee replacement at WGH. I would like to say that All the staff showed care and compassion well beyond the expected limits. From admission, through surgery and recovery, the standard of care was exceptional. I do not intend to witter on about individual performances because each member of the team, in their own way, showed an outstanding degree of care and professionalism. The NHS gets a lot of bad press and I feel it my duty to praise the staff when praise is indeed due. Not forgetting the catering staff who provided delicious food for people who, because of their surgery, were not really in a position to enjoy it but they did.
A huge thank you to all the staff and if I am unfortunate enough to require hospitalisation in the future then WGH will be my first port of call.
Kind Regards, Roy Scott.
