"Made me feel comfortable and reassured"

I contacted the Crisis Team after my daughter had self-harmed by making superficial cuts to her arms and legs.

I was distressed and upset when I was on the phone to them, they were reassuring & calm, and said they would meet me at A&E.

Whilst speaking to the two lovely ladies with my daughter, I became upset which wasn’t helping matters.

In the nicest possible way, they asked me to leave. I felt comfortable and reassured they’d take care of my daughter whilst we waited outside.

They made her feel safe, and engaged really well with her. I felt like she was able to speak freely and no judgement was made. They provided her with a fidget toy to play with, as she was very anxious. A follow up appointment was made and additional information and worksheets were provide, all of which have been helpful.
