I was referred by my GP for a Nasal Endoscopy, a first for me, and frankly, I was dreading it. I stewed for the weekend until the appointment was due and imagined all sorts of issues that could result. The good old "fear of the unknown" was working overtime and I was in a right state when I turned up for the appointment.
I must say that everyone that dealt with me in the Nightingale were fantastic, from Mark who took my blood pressure (and raised his eyebrows significantly) to Katie who carried out the actual procedure, they were very very professional and supportive.
Mark allowed me time to sit quietly until my BP had come down to a sensible level, then handed me over to Jodie. She took me through a general overview of the procedure, asked me a few questions for my records, and generally chatted to relax me before taking the BP again.
She then passed me over to Katie for a more detailed description of what was going to happen and her obvious familiarity with the mechanics of the procedure and the detailed answers she gave to my questions were just what I needed.
The actual procedure went well and Katie was ably assisted by Jodie and Lisa and between them they made me feel really cared about, such a wonderful cheerful attitude and a very professional team.
I'm not saying it's an experience I would rush to repeat but they certainly made it a whole lot easier than I was expecting.
My thanks to all involved.
