My Daddy spent two days in the Red Area Ward within Craigavon Emergency Department, before being moved to Newry Hospice. All the staff that cared for him went above and beyond to make him comfortable and pain free.
As a family we want to give a special mention to Hayley, who took the time out of her busy day to keep Daddy's spirits up and made him feel at ease by introducing him to the staff that was coming on after her. Even when she wasn't on that ward working she made it her job to come and say good morning and goodbye to him. Daddy spoke highly about Hayley and all the staff within the Emergency Department.
Also, we would like to thank the staff from the Palliative Care Team who made sure Daddy's last few days with us were pain free, for taking the time to come back down to the ward to explain to us the family what was happening next and for going to great efforts to get Daddy a bed in Newry Hospice.
Lastly a huge thanks for Mr Parks, Daddy's oncologist and all the staff at the Mandeville Unit for the care given to Daddy over the last 14 months, especially during his chemotherapy treatment.
