"My dad's care"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) Stepping Hill Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit (MAU)

(as a relative),

He had a hx of MS. Had a fall at home and ?uti...confusion. Was transfer in. UTI treated and low Na levels. Was in for 2/52 before transfer to a care home.

Care on AMU, A1, and in the care home is compassionate and the staff are over run. in my view, they can't do their jobs properly. My dad was not mobilised out of bed in the 2/52 in hospital and due to his age and condition and this length of time, I think it unlikely he will mobilise again and is likely to remain bed bound.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your post about the care your Dad received at Stepping Hill. I was sorry to read your feedback about the mobilisation. As a Trust we are doing a lot of work to encourage keep patients mobile while in the hospital. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss further and if this would be helpful, you can contact us on Patient.Experience@stockport.nhs.uk with your details as we can direct your concern to the appropriate team.

Kind regards,

Aoife Isherwood
